OUR ENVIRONMENT
Our environment provides a rich, varied and safe space for children to play, explore and learn.
We use natural resources and equipment to ensure a calming setting for the children in our care.
The Acorn Room
The Oak Room

The Acorn Room provides a tranquil setting for babies and toddlers to learn, play and develop. There is a specific designed area for those babies who are not yet mobile so they too can play and develop safely.
There are a variety of experiences and activities suitable for this age ranges to enjoy that promotes early learning such as:
Social and Emotional Skills
Physical development
Communication and Language skills
Early mark making skills
There is a soft, quiet area for sleep and rest with relaxing low level lighting and soothing music. The room also has direct access to the outdoor area, bathroom and changing facilities. We also have a separate eating room that is then transformed to a comfortable sleep room, with individual beds for children and soft lighting creating a relaxing space for sleep time.
The Oak Room provides an environment for children to play, learn, share and interact with others. There are a variety of resources, appropriate for this age range, to access independently based on their current interests.
The activities provided aim to enhance children’s personal social and emotional skills, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding of the world and art and design.
Intervention activities are carried out on a daily basis, with individual children on a 1:1 basis and small groups of children. These aim to develop children’s listening and attention skills and speech and language development.
Children have the opportunity for sleep and rest in our dedicated lunch/sleep room, which provides a calming environment with soft lighting for these key times.
