OUR ENVIRONMENT
Our environment is one which provides a rich, varied and safe space for children to play, explore and learn. We use natural resources and equipment to ensure calming

The Woodland Room
The Acorn Room provides a tranquil setting for babies and toddlers to learn, play and develop. There is a specific designed area for those babies who are not yet mobile so they too can play and develop safely.
There are a variety of experiences and activities suitable for this age range to enjoy to promotes early learning such as:
Social and Emotional Skills
Physical development
Communication and Language skills
Early mark making skills
There is a soft, quiet area for sleep and rest with relaxing low level lighting and soothing music. The room also has direct access to the outdoor area, bathroom and changing facilities.
The Oak Room provides an environment for children to play, learn, share and interact with others. There are a variety of resources, appropriate for this age range, to access independently based on their current interests.
The activities provided aim to enhance children’s personal social and emotional skills, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding of the world and art and design.
Intervention activities are carried out on a daily basis, with individual children on a 1:1 basis and small groups of children. These aim to develop children’s listening and attention skills and speech and language development. Children have the opportunity for sleep and rest in a cosy, quiet area.
The Woodland Room is the largest of our rooms holding up to 78 children at any one time. The room currently has 4 nursery education groups on a AM & PM session as well as a large care group of children staying for all day care. The Woodland Room is a warm environment for children to play, learn and develop. It is set up into lots of exciting, inviting areas for children to explore and learn through their play,. This is supported by staff who work closely with the children and follow their interests to support their learning. The area's provided aim to enhance all children's area of learning, including personal, social & emotional development., literacy & mathematics. The children also have access to the extensive outdoor area, where the children can explore, learn and improve their physical development with many of the challenges available to them. The children even have their very own resident chickens to take care of whilst at nursery.
